Affordable and well-kept place
I’ve been coming here for some time now probably two years. I suffer from PCOS and when I say I didn’t want to do laser because the prices were high and the pain. When I found this place it was so affordable. The staff is so nice and understanding. The place is always well kept and it’s so cute! I honestly highly recommend this place.
My go-to clinic
Went here bc I purchased a Groupon for laser hair removal. I continue to go back for maintenance and it’s become my go-to for laser hair removal sessions. One thing to note, laser hair removal takes MULTIPLE appointments and follow ups so don’t expect to be done after the 6 sessions. The girls here are all professional, make me feel comfortable in the treatment room and typically start/end appointments on time. You can also set up/reschedule via text (which I love).
Very gentle procedure
I have been coming to Skin Code for a little over three months now for laser hair removal. My nurse always takes her time and is very gentle. So far, the results are noticeable and I am happy with the services.
Miscommunication and other issues
I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the services I received at your establishment on [8/17/2024]. While I was greeted appropriately upon entering the facility, I have significant concerns about the way my treatment and billing were handled, which I believe need to be addressed immediately.
Before my appointment, I communicated with your receptionist via text, sharing pictures of my face and explaining my skin concerns. During this exchange, I inquired about the services and pricing. The receptionist informed me that the treatment options included a VIP peel, with a price range of $250 to $300.
However, when I arrived for my appointment, the specialist informed me that I would be receiving the “Purified Plus VIP Peel.” I asked for confirmation on the cost and was surprised when she stated it would be $350—significantly higher than what I had been told. When I expressed my concern, the specialist went to consult with the receptionist, who is not the manager, and returned with a revised price of $300, which I still felt was too high given the circumstances.
Moreover, the specialist proceeded to take pictures of my skin without my consent. I had not signed a waiver for this, as I did not want my photos taken, and this made me extremely uncomfortable. Additionally, I was pressured by the receptionist to leave a positive review on Yelp and Google before the service was even performed, which felt highly inappropriate.
After the treatment, I have experienced severe discomfort and results that do not seem consistent with what a chemical peel should be. I strongly believe that the treatment provided was not as advertised, and I am deeply disappointed with the outcome.
Given these issues—the miscommunication regarding pricing, the unauthorized photography, the unprofessional conduct, and the unsatisfactory results—I am requesting a full refund. I believe this is a fair resolution considering the distress and dissatisfaction I have experienced.
I keep documentation of all interactions I am prepared to escalate this matter if necessary. However, I hope we can resolve this amicably and promptly.
Too early for my appointment
I’m here early for my appointment. I got a good deal on Groupon. My appointment isn’t until 10:45 but I got here at 10 when they open. Maybe they won’t open until 10:45? I hope they’ll open on time and get me in early! It’s a nice place and the laser hair removal has worked so far.
Definitely recommend
I have been to SEV and didnt even go back to finish my sessions after I found SkinCode LA. They are so friendly and their monthly specials are amazing. And most importantly: they give you results! After 3 sessions my underarm hair growth is basically nonexistent and my Brazilian is coming along. The nurse makes sure that you are able to tolerate the laser each time and even gives you a break if you need it. Definitely recommend
